Salem-Keizer Public Schools announces Dr. Chad Towe as the new principal of North Salem High School

Dr. Chad Towe has been named as the new principal of North Salem High School. Towe has most recently served as the principal of Thurston High School in Springfield and brings years of experience from all around the world.

Towe started his teaching career 19 years ago in international schools in Japan, the Bahamas and Sweden. He taught high school English in the Portland area while completing his doctoral studies at the University of Oregon. For the past six years, Towe has served as the principal of Thurston, helping support the students and staff and making significant gains in the school’s graduation rate.

“Equity is one of my core values and I believe that honoring student voice, and hearing and respecting diverse perspectives will lead to successful outcomes for students,” said Towe. “It will also take teamwork and the commitment of a hardworking and passionate teaching staff and community.”

Towe’s first day with Salem-Keizer Public Schools will be July 15, 2020.

“Dr. Towe’s philosophy that every student deserves a strong education, strong support, inspiration and respect will continue to guide the community of North Salem to effectively meet the needs of all students,” said Larry Ramirez, director of high school education.
