It’s already been a busy summer of construction in Salem-Keizer Public Schools! A lot of progress is being made – more than 20 schools are under active construction and receiving improvements and upgrades promised by the 2018 bond.
Highlights of the work that’s currently taking place include:
- Progress on the expanded commons at Sprague High School
- Final touches on Kennedy’s seven-classroom addition
- West Salem High School’s three-story classroom addition
- Improvements at Pringle described by students
Eight schools will be finishing up bond work and ready to welcome students into brand new, improved or expanded spaces this fall, including:
- Sprague High
- Parrish Middle
- Stephens Middle
- Kennedy Elementary
- Myers Elementary
- Schirle Elementary
- Sumpter Elementary
- Yoshikai Elementary
By the fall, a total of 37 schools in the district will have completed bond improvements. Another 10 schools started construction this summer and are scheduled to be complete by the fall of 2023 or before, including:
- Four Corners Elementary
- Hallman Elementary
- Keizer Elementary
- Liberty Elementary
- Pringle Elementary
- Salem Heights Elementary
- Swegle Elementary
- Washington Elementary
- Houck Middle
- Walker Middle
