Bond construction will start very soon at North Salem High School. It’s an exciting time that also brings changes and challenges.
So that construction can begin right on schedule, we have to start getting ready now.
Very soon, you’ll see evidence of preparation for construction. Work will begin the week of January 14 to make modifications to the Olinger Pool building. Space at Olinger will be used during construction to support some physical education activities that will be displaced by work on the main building.
Soon after, you may notice construction fencing going up around the softball fields and possibly other areas of campus. This is in preparation for moving in temporary portables. Some classrooms will need to move to the temporary portables before the end of the school year so we’re ready to go when it’s time for construction. Softball activities will be relocated to a nearby field. We’re still working out those details and will let you know as soon as plans are finalized.
Safety is a top priority during construction. These staging activities are needed to make sure construction can start safely as well as on time. Please be sure to avoid construction staging areas and obey any posted signs.
Construction will be in full swing in the summer and the North Salem campus will be closed for safety reasons. You can read more about campus closures on the school district website.
During summer, the school office and summer programs will be relocated to another site in the school district. Those plans are being formed and we will let you know when we have details.
Thank you for your patience during construction! We’re excited about the improvements coming for North and we’re looking forward to the final product! Construction will be disruptive we know the improvements will be worth the effort. Thank you for your support during construction, and all year!
