Sprague leadership students arrive by bus with boxes full of presents, and start off the morning at Hoover by visiting classrooms and working with kids on holiday arts and crafts.
After that, they give a gift basket to every student at Hoover. Presents included fun things like toy robots and Barbie dolls, and practical items like stocking caps and scarves, school supplies and toothpaste.
It takes months of preparation and planning for Sprague students to organize everything for the event. Over 400 Hoover students were given gift baskets this year.
Sprague leadership teacher Bobby Schueller says students, staff and parents make most of the donations, and it is truly is a Sprague community effort.
Hoover Elementary Principal Bridget West says everyone at her school is thrilled to have the Sprague students visit, and that the kids enjoy doing crafts with the high school students almost as much as getting the gifts.
Awesome job, Sprague leadership! We’re so proud of your hard work and volunteerism!
