South Salem High School leadership students have been fundraising diapers in partnership with the local Family Building Blocks.
Diaper drive goals
Like other schools in the district, Saxon leadership students were inspired to join in the fundraising effort of the diaper drive. Students have worked hard creating flyers for classrooms, counting diapers as they are turned in and encouraging their peers to support where they can.
As a class they decided on a goal of collecting 10,000 diapers. While lofty, they believed in the Saxon community. The district is extremely proud to announce that South Salem High School collected 14,500 diapers for Family Building Blocks!
Partnership with Family Building Blocks
Julie Hilty, a representative from Family Building Blocks, spoke with South Salem leadership students about the organization, and within that small group more than 20 people noted how their families have been personally supported by Family Building Blocks.
Family Building Blocks helps families in need stay together, grow, flourish, and feel supported in their journey. Addressing the basic needs of babies and giving families a step up is vital to our students ever getting to the point of being in high school and graduating. They can see the journey, they know the struggles, and they appreciate the accomplishments. Family Building Blocks defines a community and the Saxons are honored to support them. Congratulations, students!
