Last month, leaders at Salem-Keizer Public Schools invited students to design what they thought the next district logo could look like. The contest ran from March 1 through March 22, in celebration of Youth Art Month.

We asked students for a design that reflects the richness of diversity within our students and staff at Salem-Keizer. Our district represents a global population where our 40,000 students speak over 100 languages throughout our 65 schools.

There was an impressive number of submissions across all grade levels and schools across the district.

Thank you to all students who participated!

After two rounds of review and evaluation, the top eight finalists have been determined! Two finalists were selected from each level: elementary, middle, high school and the community transition program.

As a reminder, the submissions will be used to inspire the new district logo, but will not be used as the final logo design. The complete gallery of all contest entries is on Salem-Keizer’s SmugMug account.
