May 2023 meeting
The Student Investment Account Advisory Committee met in May for another meeting as the end of the school year approaches.
The meeting began by recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month. The group then participated in a wellness exercise led by one of the district’s SIA-funded social workers. The committee also heard from Social Emotional Learning and Mental Health Director Chris Moore, who shared data about the positive impact of Care Solace – an organization who connects families with mental health services – on our students, staff and families.
After Moore’s presentation, the committee heard from Principal on Special Assignment Jesse Leonard about the district’s teachers on special assignment and Instructional Mentors and the trainings they receive during the year to support language and literacy instruction.
