Event will feature design/bid/build opportunities in the 2018 bond program

Local construction contractors and subcontractors are invited to attend an outreach event on Thursday, November 7, 2019 between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. at Salem-Keizer’s Central Services Center, 3630 State Street in the Polk meeting room.

The event will connect construction firms with school district Construction Services staff and approved general contractors, and will focus on upcoming design/bid/build projects included in the 2018 bond program.

Salem-Keizer is in the second year of implementation of the bond program and plans to break ground on 17 construction projects in 2020. Approximately $170 million will be invested in projects in the coming year, of which approximately $71 million dollars will be directed toward hard bid projects.

In May 2018, the Salem and Keizer communities approved a $619.7 million bond to fund improvements across the school district. Since that time, through premiums and earnings on bond funds, the total approved bond program has grown to $677.7 million with no additional cost to the taxpayer. All schools in the district will receive some kind of improvement under the bond with 31 schools planned to receive expansions or major renovations.
