If your child is not up-to-date on required 2021-22 school immunizations for the State of Oregon or does not have a valid exemption on file, now is the time to schedule immunizations with your child’s healthcare provider.

Immunization Exclusion Day Feb. 16, 2022

As outlined on the Oregon Secretary of State’s website, students who are not up-to-date on required immunizations will be excluded from valuable instruction time due to the state-mandated immunization exclusion day on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022.

The statewide exclusion applies to all children enrolled for five or more days per school year in a school or preschool or five or more days per calendar year in other children’s facilities. This will include Salem-Keizer students within the EDGE program.

More information, including a full list of required immunizations for the 2021-22 school year can be found on the district website’s Health and Immunizations webpage.

COVID-19 Vaccines not required for students

It’s important to know that SKPS does not require students to be vaccinated for COVID-19. Students will not be excluded on Feb. 16 for not having received a vaccination for COVID-19.
