JumpStart Kindergarten gives students a chance to meet school staff, learn school routines and to make new friends. Along with academic studies in the classroom, students begin to learn more about what will be expected of them in kindergarten. This will include practicing breakfast and lunch routines, sharing supplies and materials with friends in the classroom, raising their hand in a group, walking out to the playground for recess and so much more!
JumpStart Kindergarten also gives teachers the opportunity to develop relationships with potential students, evaluate students’ academic levels, and make plans on how to best support each student when kindergarten officially begins in September. You can learn more on the Kindergarten web page.
