To develop skills and use resources that will help keep my learner engaged throughout distance learning.

Tips for achieving it

  • Students need frequent breaks (preferably away from screens), especially during independent work time.
  • Set goals, such as determining a predetermined amount of time before getting a brain break or an activity of their choice.
  • Use a kitchen timer or phone timer during independent work times for kids to stay engaged
  • You can also choose a behavioral or learning goal
    • Don’t give up when learning gets hard
    • Share ideas during class discussion
    • Try a new strategy to solve a math problem.
  • Praising kids for EFFORT and not INTELLIGENCE
    • “It was a long, hard assignment, but you stuck to it and got it done.”
