United Way and Community Partners Join to Honor Educators

In a close-knit community filled with care and support, a heartfelt idea took root: to provide a meal for every staff member in every school and program at the end of summer. This vision, set in motion by Cathy McInnis of the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, aimed to show gratitude for the educators who shape the future.

As Cathy shared her idea, the Salem Leadership Foundation quickly stepped up to help, coordinating and promoting the effort. Local businesses, faith groups, and organizations rallied together, sponsoring meals as a gesture of thanks to the educators who dedicate their lives to teaching and supporting the community's children.

When the meals were delivered, they brought more than just nourishment—they delivered a message of appreciation and support from the community. This effort, made possible by The United Way, Salem Leadership Foundation, and numerous sponsors, kicked off the school year with a powerful reminder: the community stands firmly behind its educators.
