Meet Sofia Castellanos
Sofia is one of the district's two student advisors to the school board for the 2024-25 school year. Sofia is a senior at South Salem High School and looks forward to collaborating with students and staff to bring positive change.
Having student advisors in our district ensures that decisions are made with a real understanding of students' needs and perspectives. It bridges the gap between students and administrators, making sure that the student voice is not just heard but also valued.
Sofia is involved in many extracurriculars at South such as Key Club, Latino Club, AVID, Orchestra, ASB, Unified, ILEAD and DECA, which she placed 2nd at state and competed at DECA nationals in Florida. She is also a full IB Diploma candidate!
