Meet Magda Romero

At Houck Middle School, the feeling of community is key to leading a successful school. This was evident at one of the school’s special community events, Multicultural Night. During this event students, families, and staff gathered together and celebrated the school’s diverse cultures with dances, food, music and laughter.

Principal Romero empowered her team to take the lead, encouraging them to contribute their skills, organize the event, and gather donations that made the evening special.

Our staff’s dedication was at the heart of this event. I was proud to support them with resources, funding and ideas, but it was their hard work that truly made the night shine.

The evening featured cultural activities, community bonding, and more than $800 in book giveaways, along with donated prizes that added to the excitement and overall feeling of community.

Magda is in her first year leading the Houck school community and brings years of experience leading at the elementary level. As she joins the middle school community, she is keeping that sense of togetherness at the center of what will help her students and staff thrive.

“It’s amazing what we accomplish together. This is just the beginning—we’re excited to keep building spaces where every family feels welcome and every culture is celebrated.”
