Summer 2025 School-Based Programs

Our school-based programs are invitation-only and focus on academic support and student needs. Summer 2025 is just around the corner, and there are several ways for students in our district to keep learning and enjoy fun, engaging activities during the summer months.

Explore the available summer opportunities and find the program that’s right for your child! We will update this list regularly as more programs become available.

JumpStart Kindergarten Program

JumpStart Kindergarten is an opportunity for incoming kindergarten students to experience kindergarten before the official first day of school. Families can register their child for JumpStart Kindergarten for FREE during the kindergarten registration process.

Bold, Black and Brilliant

The Bold, Black and Brilliant, Defining and Refining You program is an immersive cultural enrichment program for students entering 3rd through 8th grades. Students will participate in field trips, interactive lessons and other fun learning activities. Transportation and lunch will be provided. Registration is open until the program is full.

Native Education Summer Program

The Native Education S'aamaks Summer Program is a special school program for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The program will offer breakfast, lunch and transportation to students. Students must have a valid 506 form on file to participate. Go to Google Forms to register for the program.

Migrant Education Summer School

Salem-Keizer Public Schools is holding a summer school opportunity for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 8 who are enrolled in the Migrant Education Program. Call the Migrant Education Program office at 503-399-3111 to register your child and learn more about Migrant Education Summer School.

Unified Summer Programs

Salem-Keizer Public Schools has nationally-recognized Unified programs and is offering summer programs at all levels for students with disabilities through the Special Olympics' Unified Champion Schools Program.

The Unified Summer Program in Salem-Keizer is a fun opportunity for students to partner with their peers to access learning through sports, leadership and fun activities. SKPS offers elementary, middle and high school Unified Summer Program opportunities. Registration is now closed. For more information please email Program Associate Amanda Burke.

Fast Break Summer Program

Students in grades 5 through 7 attending Title I middle schools can join the Fast Break Summer Program held at Waldo Middle School to learn the fundamentals of basketball. This program is designed to help you build skills, and have fun!

K-3 Summer Enrichment For Title I-A Elementary Schools

SKPS is offering summer enrichment opportunities to students currently in grades K through 3 at Title I-A elementary schools. Registrations are now closed. Please reach out to your school for more information.

Summer Learning Resources

To support ongoing learning over summer break, SKPS encourages students to use the learning resources available to them on Clever. Students can access Clever using their student account to continue their summer learning and receive support with math, literacy, college and career readiness and more!
