Budget Committee Vacancy

Salem-Keizer Public Schools is seeking one community member to fill the current vacancy on the district budget committee. The appointee will serve the remainder of the three-year term ending June 30, 2026.

Details On Applicant Qualifications

Candidates for the budget committee must:

  • Be registered voters and residents of Salem-Keizer School District 24J (ORS 294.414(2)).
  • Not be employees, officers, and agents of the district (ORS 294.414(4)).
  • As of July 1, 2022, a school district must include at least one member of the district’s educational equity advisory committee on the budget committee (ORS 328.542(2)).

Upon review of qualified candidate applications, and video interviews, the Board will take public comment and make an appointment at its June 11, 2024, regular board meeting.

All qualifying applications will be included in the agenda packet for the meeting, which will be posted 48 hours in advance of the meeting.

Though personal contact information will be required on the application for affirming candidate qualifications, for security/privacy that information will be redacted in the agenda packet.

The application process opens April 12, 2024, and completed, signed applications must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024.
