National Native American Heritage Month

National Native American Heritage Month is observed each November to recognize the achievements, contributions and rich cultural traditions of Native and Indigenous peoples. These groups include the First Nations, American Indian and Alaska Native communities, who have inspired generations and continue to shape our nation today.

This month offers an important opportunity to honor the enduring histories and vibrant cultures of the first peoples of this land. It’s also a time to reflect on the resilience, leadership and continued presence of Native communities across Oregon and the United States.

Let’s learn and celebrate together by honoring the voices, histories and traditions of Native and Indigenous peoples throughout the year. The resources below can help deepen understanding and support inclusive learning all year long.
