Jonathan McIlroy Named SKPS Executive Director of Strategy and Analytics
Jonathan McIlroy has been selected to join Salem-Keizer Public Schools’ executive leadership team as the district’s executive director of strategy and analytics.
McIlroy will fulfill new responsibilities, in addition to duties previously held by the former Director of Strategic Initiatives Suzanne West. West announced her resignation from the district earlier this month as she will become the superintendent in the Forest Grove School District, which prompted a search for her replacement.
For the past decade, McIlroy has served educational systems at all levels, bringing valuable experience and vision to the future of the Salem-Keizer executive leadership team.
Salem-Keizer's current success is due to the excellent and committed educators and staff who work with students each and every day. The next level of success will come from clear, narrow and common priorities, simple and functional systems, and putting useful data in the hands of every educator. The executive director of strategy and analytics is responsible for bringing these improvements to Salem-Keizer Public Schools.
Jonathan McIlroy brings a rare combination of experience and training to Salem-Keizer Public Schools. His formal training in policy, computer science and analytics combine with his years of experience working at a school, district and executive level. Jonathan has led the design of district data systems that truly make sense for schools. He was part of a team that put useful data in the hands of every educator and building leader. He has built and managed strategic plans and created coherent, efficient systems for schools. We are so fortunate to have Jonathan joining our team and bringing his training, vision, passion and drive to Salem-Keizer Public Schools.

I am honored and excited to join the Salem-Keizer team in service of our schools and this special community. My passion is to tackle complex problems and align resources to solutions that are evidence-based, data-informed and experience-driven. In this role, I look forward to using my experience to support the growth and refinement of our data-driven and strategic systems for our educators, school leaders and district staff. Our work will shine through both in our daily decisions and the long-term planning we will do together to ensure we provide the excellent education that each and every Salem-Keizer student deserves.
