Twelve local educators were honored with Crystal Apple Awards on Thursday night during the 26th annual celebration of excellence in education.
About The Crystal Apple Awards
Presented by the McLaran Leadership Foundation and the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, the 2025 awards honored 101 nominees from the cities of Salem and Keizer for their dedication to students and their success.
“It is a tremendous honor to host the 26th Annual Crystal Apple Awards. Our schools in the cities of Salem and Keizer, both public and private, are absolutely chock-full of skilled and influential educators and support staff professionals who are committed to bettering the lives and academic aptitude of local young people in our community,” said Tom Hoffert, chief executive officer of the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce.
“On behalf of the McLaran Leadership Foundation, the Salem Chamber, and our generous sponsors who make the evening celebration possible, we are so pleased to celebrate excellence in local education!”
Celebrating Teachers, Administrators and Support Staff
The Crystal Apple Awards celebrate and recognize teachers, administrators and support staff who demonstrate excellence in their profession, inspiring students and engaging the community in their work.
“These awards are more than a celebration of our educators,” said Superintendent Andrea Castañeda. “Each of the 101 nominees reflects the care, commitment, and excellence our students deserve. At a time when public education, and more specifically, our educators play such a vital role in helping the young people in our communities succeed, I’m truly grateful for their dedication and impact on every student who enters our doors.”
