Bringing Comfort and Joy to Salem-Keizer Families
As thousands of students finished up their classes and families prepared for their time home with loved ones, local educators and school staff worked on a special partnership with members from the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and other community partners.
Here in Salem-Keizer, school communities provide so much more than teaching and learning. School communities are places where needs are seen and people come together to bring extra support, care and love for each other.
Through the dedication of our Salem Chamber partners, this winter many families were greeted by smiling faces from the District’s Office of Student Equity team, and students and staff from many local schools to provide care packages for the winter break.
Many deliveries included food items, books and other learning materials, clothing and other necessities staff may have identified.
For more than 20 years, some level of support and giving back to families has been a key priority for staff and students across the district, with a goal of bringing support and creating a little extra holiday magic to those in our community.
Thank you to the Salem Chamber and other community partners who worked alongside us and thank you to our dedicated staff, students and other community members who donated their time, material goods or other resources.
Together, this winter season is bright due to your support of a loving and thriving community.
