Salem-Keizer Public Schools opened the successor bargaining process with the Association of Salem-Keizer Education Support Professionals (ASK ESP) on February 11, 2026, as the two parties met to exchange initial proposals.

Successor bargaining is the official process that a school district and union follow to share and discuss collective bargaining agreement for Classified employees runs through the end of June 2026.

The initial proposals detail proposed contract changes from each party. The district exchanged initial proposals on articles 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29 and 31. ASK ESP exchanged initial proposals on articles 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, and 18. ASK ESP also propsed three new articles in their initial proposal. The next meeting is on February 16, 2026

At the next meeting on February 16, 2026, the parties will meet to discuss articles 1, 2, 8, 9, 12, 16, and 17.

The discussion and exchange of proposals will be repeated in subsequent meetings to facilitate the parties reaching an agreement for the entire contract.
