Salem-Keizer Public Schools, Oregon School District 24J, was founded in 1855. We are located in the cities of Salem (Oregon’s capital city) and Keizer in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Educating more than 40,000 students in our 65 schools, we are the second-largest school district in Oregon.
Our Commitments to You
Equity
SKPS strives to create an environment where all students feel safe, welcome, and fully included in their school community. Learn about some of the resources and programs we implement to carry this vision out.
Quality Instruction
We believe that all students deserve to experience excellent instruction in every classroom, every day. Our goal is that all students master grade-level academic standards and attain the behavioral and social-emotional skills needed to thrive.
Community
While schools play an integral role in the community, community support is vital to supporting student success. From attending events to providing feedback on policies, community involvement comes in many forms.
Climbing Together, Salem-Keizer's 2025-27 Strategic Plan
We are proud to present Climbing Together, Salem-Keizer’s 2025-27 Plan.
In the fall of 2024, we started collecting information about our community’s hopes and expectations for Salem-Keizer Public Schools. Based on the leadership and vision of the Salem-Keizer School Board of Directors, community feedback and a review of K-12 research, we’ve developed a compact two-year vision and plan for our district.
