Kylee Daulton, Cultural Resource Facilitator (CRF), Native Education Program

Kylee, a citizen of the Madesi Pit River Tribe, was a student at Salem-Keizer before she became a staff member. “I make sure to tell my students whatever they need to be successful, I’m here for them.”

Simone Grace Richardson, North Salem High School Class of 2024

As president of the school’s Black Student Union, Simone has found a shared sense of connection with others in the program. “Maybe we don’t all agree on the same things, but when you are here, you can really be yourself.”

Student Programs

Early Childhood Programs: Pedro Espinosa Goméz, Kindergarten Teacher

Early childhood education is a time of foundational learning for all students. Families can be active participants in their child’s education, which begins in preschool and kindergarten. 

Native Education Program: Alexis Large-Cooley, North 2023 Graduate

Alexis Large-Cooley said of the program, "The Native Education Program introduced me to other Native students in the district. That really helped me connect with other individuals and progress socially in school, which helped me academically."

Award-winning Music Programs: Alex Reyna, Waldo

Waldo Middle School student Alex Reyna found his lifelong passion for music through the school’s orchestra program. For Alex, music is the place he has grown in his leadership skills, confidence and musical abilities all while establishing strong friendships.

CTE Programs: McKay Agriculture

For many students, CTE programs provide an opportunity to apply learning to real-world scenarios and careers. The district offers more than 50 CTE programs across the district, including Agriculture.
