For Construction Contractors

The 2018 Bond Program will fund improvements at every school in Salem-Keizer. Thirty-one schools are scheduled to receive major capital improvements. Because projects will vary greatly in scope and complexity, different construction management strategies will be employed.

Some of largest and most complex projects, such as expansions at one or more of the district’s traditional high schools, will be managed through the Construction Manager/General Contractor method. The School Board approved the use of CM/GC methodology at its February 27, 2018 business meeting. The district will require  CM/GC firms to hold public outreach opportunities for local sub-contractors.

The district will employ general contractors to manage other bond projects. Each school will be assigned to one general contractor that will be responsible for selecting all sub-contractors. The district will post a list of approved general contractors on this page when the list is finalized.

To learn how to sign up for notifications of bidding opportunities from Salem-Keizer, please visit the Procurement and Contracting services page. In addition, construction-related projects over $125,000 are posted in the Daily Journal of Commerce.  Please note: The district does NOT post bid opportunities on ORPIN.
